I’m back home sitting with a cup of tea and thinking about my day. My tea is in my cup of love. A mug with hearts on it. So every time I take a drink I’m drinking in the love. Much like everything I’ve done today.
I’ve been on a trip back to Scarborough to a lovely spiritual church and centre. In the grounds of the Harmony Country Lodge this special space has been inspired by Paul, who channels through the mediumship of Raymond Brown. It was an amazingly sunny winter day. Due to some roadworks I got a view of the Vale of York at it’s best. My Guides got me there in good time despite an half hour in a traffic jam. In fact I should probably have said perfect time as they got me there five minutes before the deadline I set them! A warm welcome awaited me and the service was filled with love from the Afterlife.
Driving along I noticed how I was being drawn back to a place that had been a key point in changes in my life. It seems I like a recurring pattern. Trips to Scarborough featured in an important change in my working life. And then again some years later in a big shift in my personal life. I know things are about to shift again so I acknowledged the unexpected, but apparently planned, road closure that diverted me from my direct route. Now I’m ready for things to appear indirectly. And I love it. I can’t wait to find out which road I’m going to be travelling.
I love myself enough to know that going back, forward or sideways the journey will not be alone. The Spirits who came in today brought their love to each and every one of us.
Because they always remind me that life is about living with, in and through love. It’s as if we all need to be reminded of that as often as possible. I feel that, in the end, what we find really hard to do is keep on focusing on loving ourselves. For so many reasons. But the key one being the idea that we exsist alone. That our only connection is with other people when they approve of us. Yet the Spirit World keeps trying to remind us that we are loved no matter who we are. In the service as I listened to one of my favourite pieces from St Paul to the Corinthians it echoed the truth that our Spirit Guides bring us.
Here is that piece. It’s one I’ve returned to many times as I feel it also refers to mediumship and the interconnectedness of all beings. This is not about religion as when Paul wrote it Christianity was more a collection of spiritual idea than a structured dogma. It takes us back to basics.
Letter of St Paul to the Corinthians
13. If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Next week I am looking forward to meeting up with a good friend and catching up. We both love working for the Spirit World. I am also going to a wedding and will celebrate alongside everyone else that love is a wonderful blessing in this world. I hope you have found the love in and around you today too ❤️️
